The car’s factory spec grade
- Engine3.5×4
- Safety5.3×2
- Comfort6.7×2
- Reliability5.6×2
The spec third takes this grade and then adjusts it for owner count, emissions compliance and how many comparable cars are listed, so it does not read as the plain average of these four.

Each third is scored against comparable listings, where 5.0 is par. The headline is not their average: it adds up how far each third sits from par, so thirds that agree move it further than thirds that cancel out.
